There's been a whole lot of this sort of activity going on here...
TURKEYS!
A FLOCK OF BLACK COPPER MARANS
ITTY BITTY GOATS
A CHERRY ON THE TREE PLANTED IN MARCH
THE GREENHOUSE IS POPPING
THE HENS ARE EGGING
I AWAKE TO THIS SCENE MOST MORNINGS
I CLEARLY FAILED TO GET THE CAT FIXED EARLY ENOUGH
I HEART FARM CAMP
AND FRED HEARTS ME!
Sigh, I love your farm and it makes me want to move to mine. Someday...when we have walls. I love the scene in the incubator. I'm super jealous that your trees have fruit. The gophers nearly did ours in and we're stoked to just have leaves. It looks like it's shaping up to be a much nicer year than last year. May good weather and good fortune be with you this spring!
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Marsha
Oh and if those are barn kitties, I would love some. All of mine turned out to be indoor cats so I sent them off to good homes. I'm still looking for a few good gopher hunters.
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of goats do you have? I want to get a couple of goats for my three quarters of an acre on a hillside and I'm not sure what kind to get. Any suggestions?
ReplyDeleteThank you, Marsha! You just have to come for a visit. And bring some of those mystery seedlings with you! :-) We have a serious gopher problem, too. I buy these great, inexpensive wire baskets and everything is caged! (let me know if you need a source) Sadly, 4 of the 6 kittens died. Mama was just too skinny to support them all, I think. I also know of a place that you can get rescued cats to have as barn cats...free and they will deliver you a few! email me: pam@peacefulvalleyfarm.org
ReplyDeleteMary, my goats are Nigerian Dwarf. They're great because they will give a good amount of milk, but are smaller that standard goats, so they eat le$$ and take up a smaller space. If your hillside is steep, maybe one of the breeds that are from mountain terrain? Also, different breeds are better for milk, others for meat...just depends on what you need. Check out http://fiascofarm.com/goats/index.htm. There is a section called "getting your goat" which has lots of great info to help you choose a breed.
ReplyDeletei think fred has a crush on you. has he tried to mate you yet? he has had a few human girlfriends. i miss him.
